Atsuga Corporation revealed the "GEAR System" to the public, and completed the first manned humanoid robot "GEAR". Things took a turn, when the GEARs went berserk and began a massacre. The berserk GEARs are then referred to as "RAGE", and it did not took long before the Earth's surface became ruined wasteland.

Humanity, who had been driven to live underground, devised and executed an operation to reclaim the surface land from RAGE, and after over 50 years of wartime, humanity finally secured the lands of Japan, following a decisive victory over the same land.

And now...
A beacon of peace and hope, Cosmopolis, humanity's newest city in Osaka.
The main character, having the dream of being a GEAR pilot, takes up the inherited GEAR, along with an overwhelming debt.
Thus it begins the journey of debt-repaying, together with an android operator.
